Frost Ices the Night
By Dawnell Harrison

Frost ices the night
As an albatross of cold
Air fills my lungs
In this 25 degree weather.
My face is as white as death
And my feet are as numb
As someone under anesthesia.
My words are as dumb
As an icicle at midnight—
Silence is always the best remedy.
