Grandeur
By Mahathi

All grandeur remained intact
pleasing his worldly eyes!

When envisioned transparencies . . .
the world lay bare before him. . . .
to exhibit its bones, blood and dirty entrails!
The upwelling saps of trees,
the imprisoned toad inside a giant rock,
the salt in seas, the smut in hearts . . .
and more . . . couldn’t amuse him.

He tender prised deeper!
There’s grandeur inside as well . . .
a more real Tabula Rasa . . .
but this is not to be seen . . .
but to be felt
by every invisible cell of the soul.
