Great Scots
By Michael Copeland

Pipes are blowing mountain echoes
as the blue Gaelic moon plays the
passion strings of love’s sweet song.

For the Scottish story is one of joy,
banner waving, and excitement.
A love of country, land, and self.

Tartan memories of drum beat
valleys throbbing hearts of the
heroic clans of highland glory.

Scotland the brave standing
to tyrannical rule of an iron hand
and rising to heaven’s thistled rose.
