On Love
By Ross Knapp

Yes, another trite Tennysonian poem
An ancient Victorian stereotype

The dervish whirling word of love
But more than a word or concept

A burning on the pulse, a mystical yearning
A primal drive perhaps yet there seems to be something else,

Something there in the essence that just makes sense,
Accepting abuse if it lifts life’s lonely confusion
