My Love
By Michael S Copeland
When you find me I’ll be there,
waiting where you left me.
Heart strings tugging on lagging dreams
straining a memory image of yesterday.
Mind music of bended knee prose
lilting through hectic backstreets.
As you float the boulevard
a scarlet cloaked apparition no more.
When you find me I’ll be there
waiting where you left me.
Pondering life together is now reality
with a preconceived notion of the ideal.
I cannot fathom the preference
for sadness over joy.
And this you should never forget, my love,
you have rewarded my investment in time.
When you find me I’ll be there
waiting where you left me.
waiting where you left me.
Heart strings tugging on lagging dreams
straining a memory image of yesterday.
Mind music of bended knee prose
lilting through hectic backstreets.
As you float the boulevard
a scarlet cloaked apparition no more.
When you find me I’ll be there
waiting where you left me.
Pondering life together is now reality
with a preconceived notion of the ideal.
I cannot fathom the preference
for sadness over joy.
And this you should never forget, my love,
you have rewarded my investment in time.
When you find me I’ll be there
waiting where you left me.
