It's just poetry, it won't bite
Outside

Laura Zucca-Scott’s most recent poem to appear here was Looking for a Shore (March 2013).
Outside
Outside my window
The trees are kneeling to the wind
Resentful and proud
While scattered sparrows
Brave the storm
The dusk announces the end of the day
Yet, I sit frozen
Telling myself
To not run outside
The wind will not taste like salt
Here in the prairies
And noisy yellow buses
Will not pick you up
Still, I am home
