It's just poetry, it won't bite

Poésies Fraternelles

Maxwell K Riggsbee Jr’s poem Beginnings Never End debuted at vox poetica
in July. He is a technology executive who spends much of his time
traveling between coasts and abroad. All that travel allows Maxwell to
explore the boundaries of technology as he explores the boundaries of
physical space. This is a collection of his poems written expressly to
be read together, in concert with one another. Not merely different
stanzas of the same poem, these are in fact all separate poems that
make up a mosaic of thoughts probing limits and possibility.

Poésies Fraternelles
By Maxwell K. Riggsbee Jr

Aloft
Moon glow
and sun rise
water rush
beneath deep blue skies
a wind blows round
where will it go?
Let it carry you
then you’ll know

?
Would the moon glow if not kissed by the sun?
Would stars shine if the light missed your eyes?
Would flowers grow if the rains never came?
Would a rainbow exist if only one color tried?
Would the wind blow if the air never moved?
Would I be me if I didn’t know you?

——————–

Dream to See
Patience and persistence
neither hesitates nor rushes.
Don’t look, see!
Dreams become reality

See the Dream
Thoughts fired
Ideas inspired
Dreams desired
Actions required

——————–

Enigma
Touching all that is, in all ways
Insatiable, unstoppable intent
Motionless yet moving, always
Engulf a moment without repent

Time
Time to laugh or begin to cry
Time to live before you die
Time to mourn until you weep
Time to realize a risk is a leap
Time to embrace all that is dear
Time to accept that the past is not here
Time to grab tomorrow, today
Time to believe that now is always
Time to know moments are brief
Time to enjoy a falling leaf
Time to feel hearts skipping beats
Time to love before time retreats

——————–

Perplexed
If tomorrow
becomes yesterday
how will I
get to today?

Aloft and Adrift
Aloft without any air
Adrift but no water anywhere
No moisture on the lips, yet I feel drowned
Suddenly buried without any ground
Burning alive without a fire to see
Not feeling myself but clearly feeling me

Surrender
Embrace power in uncertainty
Accept change as reality
Emerge from emotions to control
Circumstances beyond one’s hold

Observe all and dismiss none
Immerse in moments as they come
Twist and turn, no path is straight
Unbeknownst to us, chaos owns fate

——————–

XII
Years like months
Vernal equinox begins
Time crosses seasons
Winter solstice ends

Vernal Equinox
Clouds of white and oceans deep
Cool grasses lie beneath one’s feet
Warm rays bless a gentle cool breeze
Flowers scent the air with ease
Birds recite songs the Angels sing
Arrested hearts become free again
