[Tell Wrong I Like It]
By Steven Minchin

I can’t tell you how much I like it when James tells me I’m wrong
Primarily because I don’t want to risk losing you

Going on about the value added to his honest outbreaks
Pronounced by their rare deviation

Jumping from his standard, near rote praise
I may try to distract you with cleverly placed asides

That last for a couple of relevant, laced moments
That serve your distraction by twisting your attention

And prevent me from telling you how much I like it
When James tells me I’m wrong
