It's just poetry, it won't bite

there it goes . . .

Maria Arana’s most recent poem to appear here was “A Passing Time” (July 2017)

there it goes…
By Maria Arana

there it goes
reunion like bunions
giggles that gurgle
fingers without scope
and finding peace
was never this easy
eventually
it all stops

death catches fire
and friends join the embers
that’s where I’ll be
waiting
for the ash to disperse
with the thrill of you
leaving behind whispers
I can no longer hear

can no longer feel
and you’ll cry
because
returning as the thing you are
would be meaningless
when I’ve moved on
