It's just poetry, it won't bite

Those Three Words

Jasper Ballard’s last poem to appear here was Solitude. He reports that he will be returning to his beloved Haiti on mission over the holidays. In his words, “I wrote this poem when I was recovering from a parasitic infection following my first mission. The illness did not in any way dampen my love for that beautiful land and her people.”

Those Three Words
By Jasper Ballard

At one time it was easy
Kind of fun actually
I love you

See? Just reading it feels nice
3 simple words

Those 3 words when said
tell a person all they need
to know

Go ahead
say it again.
Nice,
right?

She doesn’t agree
She never says it anymore

Those 3 words
I love you
