Where You Want to Be

By Erick Harrison

Dry leaves rustle softly
‘Gainst the dusty suburban earth …
Dawn’s pink-grey-copper-green sky …
It’s a quiet Saturday morn
You awaken briefly
Then quickly go back to sleep
  Into
     A
Dream about a lonely town
On the Western Plains
Where there’s a weather-worn house
And a time-worn door
Leading to a sleepy bedroom
Again on a Saturday morn …
Where you want to be.
