Worthing
By Angharad Williams

Air clogged with salt and spray,
the good girl walking on pebbles
the dull ache of sea-battered corners

tentative steps and an
inner mantra of shells.
The swirly, mobile home.
The Mussel, empty, blue.
All picked up. Examining

how the sea chose to damage each one
differently. Discarded fingerprints
brought back to Mum who coos and carries on.

  1. You put me back in the moment of youth and laughter walking along the beach with my young daughters. Thank You
