You
By Deborah Lawrence

I.
You ran into a wall.
Stop.
Go around it
as many times
as you need to.
It does matter.
Remember, help is
as far you’re
willing to seek it.

II.
A new you–
who knew?
You.
The answer was there.
Took time, but you continued
to believe. So back up,
take another look.
You’re ready.
Start a new you.

III.
Response time is now.
I’ve heard you holler,
stomp, and scream.
Yes, I denied it,
didn’t accept it,
moved forward.
But better days come
when we work together
eyes wide open.
