Modern Icarus
By Laura Zucca-Scott

Like a modern Icarus
Caressing the sun
Tantalizing
Exploding
Burning dreams
Never a tomorrow

Warm hopes
Written in stone
Wrath storming
With fiery strength

All is lost
All is gained
In a flutter of wings
