Unhappy

By Jeanette Cheezum
Life is tough when sadness
surrounds you. Vigilantes
come in town thinking they
know it all. Instead, they
create more problems due
to their lack of knowledge.
Things aren’t always
as they are perceived.
Relentless people aim to
conquer from their ivory
tower; not bothering to learn
the facts or take part of the blame.
Shame and sorrow are cast about
like moths to a flame.
You are the one that’s had to
endure the task; walk away
before they steal your pride.
Nice job, Jeanette. There are beautiful phrases here as well as a strong point.
Wow, Jeanette, this is very powerful stuff. Life is just full of this stuff. Fortunately, we have our poetry to help us get through it all. Here’s wishing you some happier thoughts.
I think you’ve described a world for many here, Jeanette. I loved the end.
Unhappy tells a story that, at one time or another, most of us have experienced. It’s about strife and life – to be able to survive and then to thrive. A poignant poem with depth.
I wrote a comment earlier today but it hasn’t posted yet. Your “unhappy” poem is wonderful. Poignant and powerful with great depth. Words most will find quite relatable.
@ Jean…Thanks, for reading and commenting. I miss you.
@Bobbie…Thanks! I was in an explosive mood when I wrote this.
@ Erin…Nice to see you here.Thanks!
@ Jeanette…Thanks! We are able to survive, thank God. I’m glad you all
were able to feel my emotion without feeling the pain.
