Are You Satisfied
By J.B. Hogan

They fall without reason nor understanding,
but you know why, you pull the silent trigger each day,
pull it as if you were an armed robber coveting
all the things you have taken from others.

Don’t upset things was your
frightening, foggy logic while your
sons and daughters kept dying,
dying without cause.

But answer one question, will you:
is your world so good, so righteous and free?
Are you at the pinnacle,
with nothing more, nothing better to gain?
Is this how you envisioned it would be at the top?
Are you satisfied with your place,
is this the best you can do?
