it is the race that
never stops
nor do the participants care if
they win or lose
nor do they try
it is like a scene
out of a sartre novel
he would be proud of it
as if nothingness
has a purpose
the waitress walks by my
table often
and i wish i could
order something every time
not to keep her busy
but because
she is
lovely to look at
