It's just poetry, it won't bite

causatum

Rob Dyer has been writing for 10 years and he still doesn’t know why. He hopes he never finds out. His words are free and have been read in several places. And he says, “the more I write, the less I know.”

causatum
By Rob Dyer

post-op revealed the results
a smile was sutured on

a zipper to pain

kept the beast at bay

accepting her share of the blame

made him easier to handle

so she hid the knife in a handshake

and called it a day

when the Sun rose

a veiled shadow followed

tempering her mood

pensive, would do for now

no longer did she count the days

since getting her running shoes

in fact,

she enjoyed a slow walk

now that she knew

where she was going
