Coming Through
By Molly Frederick

As I meditated on my rustic forest bench,
I heard the sound of a great rain coming
through the trees.

Not rain.
But, instead—a strong wind swept in, rattling
dry leaves, rolling around inside them,
curling them tighter.

And, once again, I knew that there are ways
and ways, and others ways as well.
From here to there—from there to here.
Unknowable encounters.
Events, not yet seen.
