crossing
By Katy Rydell

In a long jacket
hands in pockets
shoulders forward
you stood on the far side of the street
A light rain fell
dark on the pavement
damp and slick
When traffic cleared
you ambled across
That simple movement
took my breath away—
You
coming toward
me
