Natalie Bosch shares a tribute poem.

Dad and the Blue House
By Natalie Bosch

Blue quartz and granola bars
A red canoe we used to have
The scratched-up country CD known by heart
Half-eaten packs of Lifesavers
Guitar pieces and the pumpkin song
Riding on the lawn mower, my very own pair of earmuffs
Folding laundry and making home videos
Walking to the horse tree and watching for birds
Looking at the lights on the dark mountain from our living room
At night falling asleep to a hummed rendition of “Paradise”
Painting four layers of primer to cover that one little spot
Learning the secret to cinnamon chicken; Dad has taught me a lot
The Rose Company, no, Right Angle
Picking random teams in the football pool
Just a quick stop at Settles to get a Fruit Roll-up
Then it’s back to the blue house
Just down Little Long Mountain after it turns to gravel
Looking over the pond
There it is
