Dream Batter
By John Delaney
From the back door,
the Big Dipper holds steady
above the house,
not spilling a drop
of its cosmic batter.
Off to bed, I’m soon ready
in my dream shop
to grasp its handle
and, careful not to splatter,
pour.
How seemingly simple but how full. Images bright, total involvement.
Love the poem!
