By Karen Schindler

He listens to me until
I’m sleepy
Smiles at me when
I yawn like a kitten
long distance
down the phone
Tells me well, I should
let you get some rest
Then there’s
that long loud silence
just dripping with the
things we left unsaid.

    A good poem
    Like a good poet
    Tells a story
    Keeps a secret

  2. Joan McNerney says:

What I particularly like is his long distant smile. You can feel him smiling and letting you go unanswered.

  3. Sarah says:

    Wonderfully evocative!

  4. Just saw it today Bobbie, it’s lovely.

Thank you all for taking the time to comment on my piece. It’s very much appreciated.
