Experiment #2
By Thomas Starr

I remember seeing you
For the first time
Your siblings standing
On either side
I pressed an arrow
And you were nude
Here was a kaleidoscope
Upon your bare skin
The reds, yellows, browns
Greens and blues
Poured to mesh
Your dermis at birth
Stories within your skin
Of a rose bursting
Propelled into skyline
A yellow din about it
Passing through thorns, thistles
Destination unknown, but urgent
Your creator whispered in my ears
Described breathing you life
Kneeling within you
Tilting and pouring
Rainbow oils upon you
Redefining your ethnicity
Whatever do you mean?
Why were you born?
Hanging on blank white
The purgatory of familiar
My quiet cavern
Illuminated in your glow
There is a textured dimension
Within your frame
That pulls you in
To a world hidden
Filled in inspiration
Of free flowing abstractions
