It's just poetry, it won't bite

Laura Zucca-Scott’s most recent poem to appear here was “A Mother’s Watch” (February 2018)

By Laura Zucca-Scott

Sunsets are hard
Vibrant colors fading
Silence shrouding life
Slowly, inescapably

How many days?
How many hours?
Will you hear a child’s laughter?
Or a cry of pain?

Memories so overwhelming
A whole life
A few moments
Close to infinity
