Heaven on Earth
By Marc Carver

I end up in the park
Look at the birds and flowers and women
I sit on Terry Thomas’ bench
He was loved by all
and now he is a bench.
Everything in the world is as it has to be
if this now was my last resting place on Earth
the last place I would ever be
I could live with that
so I closed my eyes
took some deep breaths
but did not die.

    Marc,
