Ignore the Special Packaging
By Ben Nardolilli

Forty miles of leftover distance,
I wonder if it is about time
For a conversion,
A mile an ounce,
And the ounces taken in
Under forty minutes,
Once the minutes are turned
Into hogsheads and reams,
Then this gap year between us
Might be easy to conquer,
Or at least ignore
To the point that I can pretend
Some sphere of influence
Covers both our nights.
