The Inconsequence of Self
By Bobbie Troy
as my feet touch the ground
every day
and I look in the mirror
I wonder if there really is
such a thing
as the inconsequence of self
Bobbie,
I think there is, at least, not an inconsequential self, though I’m tempted, to feel the inconsequence of (my) self.
Thank you for your thought-provoking poem–one of many.
Please let us know if you find out. I love your true to life poetry.
Thank you, poetry ladies. Jean, I love your reply. I often feel the same way!
Nice!
We do mirror many thoughts Bobbie. I do believe there is inconsequence of self, but we have become quite adept at hiding it with big smiles, pretty stories and a “I’ll think about it later” attitude. Protecting our fragile mental balance becomes paramount. Thanks for this perceptive tome.

Food for thought indeed.
