When You Are Leaving
By Laura Zucca-Scott

We reached the point of no return
So long ago
Not wanting to know
Seeking for warmth
In kindness and unspoken truths
You can’t unpack your bags so easily
When you are leaving home
Drowning tears in bittersweet smiles
A trail of victories and hurt
A blinding path of snow and tall grass
Wishing you were young enough to hide.

I love this poignant poem! It captures the pain and emotions and makes you feel – unwanted passion and fear – wanted childhood and starting over. Thanks for sharing.
