It's just poetry, it won't bite

My Life

From where I sit now
My life feels like a film
That plays much too fast,
Catching glimpses of images
That flit by before I can hold them.
Like those annoying trailers
In the movie theater,
Bits and pieces of images
That don’t give you time
To register what they’re about.
I want to hit the pause button
(Where’s that damn pause button?)
I want time to ponder,
What did this mean, or that?
Where did that skinny girl go,
Riding her bike around the hood,
Wondering what her life would be about.
The flickering images are all of me,
Now like worn super eight film
Viewed in the dark of my living room
To an audience of one.

This is what I like. A good short amazingly brilliant piece of poetry. Wow!

So true! I think these are universal feelings that we all experience at one point or other in our lives.
