New Accident
By Ellenelizabeth Cernek-Kashk

I refuse to write about …
Therefore I’ve not written?
I refuse to love you
Yet it was only in the beginning
I wanted my independence
Therefore you made me dependent
Upon you, need you
There has been many a fool
Who has loved me?
Yet I’ve been fool enough to believe
That love was not real
There is no definition
In any written known book
To define the pain of love
Or the reality of love
Or the destruction that love brings.
Emotionally I’m crushed
Which becomes even more painful
With each new accident
Of falling in love!
