Night Frogs II
By James G. Piatt

The house upon the hill was quiet, the earth calm,
The frogs became the night:
Croaking loudly they caused a consciousness of darkness
And sound,

The house upon the hill was quiet, the earth calm,
The frogs’ mutterings concealed the darkness,
The night contained a starlit sky, which
Reflected upon the house where the frogs sang.
The house upon the hill was quiet, the earth calm,
I listened closely to the building of summer
Memories as the night frogs chanted.

The frogs became the night…and this poem becomes my home.

    Real nicely done!
