It's just poetry, it won't bite

Passages Internal

Val B Russell has been known to give us humor, sadness, and musings on the creative. Sometimes all in the same poem! Her most recent contribution to these pages was the witty Oscar and I. Val is working on multiple projects and her writing is finding its way further out into the reading world. There will be more of that in the near future! For now, lose yourself a little bit in this lovely collection of words. Then shake your own phrases loose and see what they have to say!

Passages Internal
By Val B Russell

It danced past through the blink of youth
Wearing ingénue innocence as a crown
Painting each day white and unproven
A fresh set of sheets for a clean sleep
A purely cordial romp through the headlines
Undefiled by the dirty tongues that pollute
Lesser actors on the stage of proof

It scurried down the narrow corridor of self
And hid itself inside a hollow idea
Something safe to think
When the sordid monster of shame
Prostitutes itself for sympathy
A never ending line of wanton jesters
Laughing the fullness of the idiot moon
