Jeanette Gallagher’s most recent poem to appear here was The Twist, published as part of Contributor Series 10: Silken Rags, in January 2012.

By Jeanette Gallagher

She asked her mother
why she never

Her mother answered
because she didn’t
want her to get a big head.

After therapy she
relinquished the pain
and wondered why

in her dreams she still
searched for herself.

  1. Thank God, she had therapy. This happens so many times. We are noticed for our mistakes and not our good. Great poem for us to ponder.
