Rain on a Tin Roof

Rain on a Tin Roof
By Jacob Miller

The sky rains glass, shattering on the roof
Deafening yet soothing, white noise

War drums beat in the distance
While a light show plays in the clouds

The trees sway to the tune the wind plays
As the glass falls upon the leaves

A celestial hammer strikes the ground
And the sky echoes a resounding chorus

The lake moves to the will of the gale
Its surface rippling a thousand times over

The child runs to his mother for comfort
Scared of the hymns and melodies of nature

Though as everything in life must do
The song soon comes to an end

Saying adieu to its captive audience
With a variegation of shattered white
