Roller Coaster Affliction
By Victoria Blanco

I despise it
I let myself wallow in it
I haven’t felt this in a long time
I missed the hint of pique
That initiates in my stomach
And spreads to my hands and feet
My personal roller coaster
I raise my arms up high
Down we go
The rush evaporates and I
Look at you
Once again, I’ve fallen down
The treacherous waters
And I can’t swim
