Shine
By Steve Minchin

Rise wild and dance for father little Star–
come seize another sun up with bright music.
Here in daddy’s sweet, raised gaze flail with joy,
let it move your light arms and legs and play
a radiant song to another day.

Rise wild, impulsive and joyful young Star–
for this again is your day, love and sun.
As daddy brushes away sleep’s slow hum
dance in this reunion, while from above
he conducts dawn’s fast new song of love.
