Silent
By Dawnell Harrison

I lean on you, silent as a fossil.
Tell me you know who I am
Because I’ve been scouring
The dirt in the backyard for bones.
The sky is faceless—
It’s been nearly two weeks since
A cloud has accommodated us
With its white fluff.
We sleep as numb-brained
As sheetrock at dawn.
