It's just poetry, it won't bite

Solitude

10.13.10 Posted in today's words by

In July, Jasper Ballard put words to a writer’s struggle with the craft in his poem Writing … Today he speaks to another feeling we all know quite well. Something to wonder about: does writing help us bridge the gaps?

Solitude
By Jasper Ballard

Alone
Everyday

The hypnotic trance of life
Rushing by

Images flashing
Never connecting

Hiding behind the mask of a smile
Living the life of obligation

Going thru the mindless
Everyday requests of others

No time for me
No one to grant my wishes

Meaning
Purpose
Reason

A mere semblance of any
I would take

There has got to be more
Than this life of
Solitude
