Standing on the Porch
By Summer Qabazard

Stars above St. Louis
spellbind so hard they swirl
when you stare long enough
in winter, they heal
with tears of ice and pearl.

They are the stairs
of the Milky Way
sending up dulcet tides of rain
through the choking black layer
we have created.

When it rains
we are forgiven.

Spirit of starstorms,
show me a place of truth.

I have faith
in the gravity of rain.
