Stasis
By Joe Wells

Yet again

the clock ticks—
my head
pulsates,
silence resonates
in an empty
chest.
Restless,
paralyzed
I lay,
sedating
my idle

what they all say.
After each night
there’s always
another day!
Oh well,
a tomorrow
must come again.
And, I shall spend it
breath by breath,

in mundane. . .
