It's just poetry, it won't bite

Summers Past

Summers come and summers go, but they do seem to leave an impression.

Summers Past
By Harris Tobias

Summer has slipped through my fingers
Slipped away like air like smoke like sand
All its reality and feelings faded to a ghostly pale
All that fine detail now blended and dispersed
All its color faded by the sun
Time’s vivid colors run they are not fast
I don’t know what is worse to forget it out of hand
Or try and store it in my imperfect mind
Into my imperfect mind forgotten
Like all those summers past
You think that it will last but it cannot stay
All traces fading fast like all the rest
Rushing into yesterday
