Tears in His Voice
By Kashea C. McCowan

A voice once strong and deep and full of confidence
now shaken, quivering and uneasy.
The heart stirs up feelings mixing its contents
like a can of soda, emotions well up in him

Spewing over, no longer in control,
unable to hide that part momma told him never to show
the strength in his voice, compromised, is as wavy as the ocean
when he speaks the love he has inside washes up to shore and I
hear his tears, falling.

One Response to “Tears in His Voice”

  1. I hear his tears, falling. (love that)
