Today Is a Good Day
By Frank Cavano

Today is a good day. Are you
wondering what the birds are
saying? (They are not on

Facebook but they do tweet.)
Where are the rabbits taking
breakfast? (Will you strike

me if I, amused, say IHOP?)
Today is a good day. A deer will
be along soon. Perhaps a

doe with her fawn! Can you
see that sweet, spotted thing
arriving on new feet? We will

alertly watch that alligators not
disturb a Carolina morning.
Are you wondering what the

birds are saying? Do they know
more than we know? Does their
flight bespeak a rising above

earth not just in meters but in
wisdom? Do they rub wings

with angels or catch the agile
ageless Eye of God winking?
