I could have sworn it was yesterday … 

Was That Today?

I don’t know where the day went
It was morning and now it’s supper time
What happened in between is a blur
There was breakfast I recall
Funny how the meals punctuate the day
But what did I accomplish
What thoughts did I have
I know what I was doing but what exactly?
And if I cannot recall them now
What chance is there I will remember them
Ever?
There was lunch
I think that was the day’s big deal
We went out for a meal
A small one but fun
We had frozen yogurt
A treat
Then there was our Scrabble game at two-ish
You won but not so either of us will remember
What words we made
What words we said
And if we can’t even know this very day
What chance is there for us?
Does this mean we are living in the moment
Or that we are mostly dead already?
