It's just poetry, it won't bite

You
will recognize the writer and you’ll really love his poem! R. Scott
DeSena lives in South Florida and I like to think the beautiful weather
there contributes to his artistry. This poem is a great lesson in mood.
It tells less a story and more a feeling. Word choice is the focal
point here. Read it with an ear for sound.

By R. Scott DeSena

Whispers sail
Through oceans of guilt
Wandering…
An endless journey across
The seasons of my soul…
Across my cold face
Leaping from grace
Right through the clouds of absurdity…
My clothes feel old and dirty.

Torment lies beneath Eyes
Transparent concrete shadows
Through the trees
The rotting leaves
That lay beneath my pillow
And lies to the beauty
That stands before it.

Grass is greener
Seasons meaner
Whispers… silence… thunder
Sun up
Sun down
Pull myself back under
Back to the path that’s worn
My soul is old and torn.
