Just Before Winter
By Jeanette Cheezum

Winter hadn’t set in yet,
The ground was still soft.
The sun cast a brilliant glow on
The window boxes he had built
for her.

The older gentleman stood
Back to admire his masterpiece
Of yellow and purple pansies.

Today his daughter comes home
With his first grandson.

A poignant poem that tells a simple story that’s often repeated but never old. It describes the excitement underneath the joy of a home coming of those we love and anticipate their arrival. I felt this life giving action. Beautiful, Jeanette C. Thanks for sharing.
