Another Time
By Gary Hanna
I’m older
now
now
and time
has passed
but still
I remember
long ago
we schooled
our hearts, now
I wear glasses
and my eyes
aren’t as blue
anymore, so
there’s no danger
but before we go
I want to see you
I’ll knock
politely
at the door
hoping
that you
are still there
Wistful and poignant. Beautiful. I particularly like, “We schooled our hearts.” Thank you for this lovely poem.
Lovely and sentimental.
I read this twice to savor.
