A Design of Life
By Murray Dunlap

The makeup and matter
Of how we live and breathe
Does not interest me
How we connect and interact
As we progress and age
Does

Our forms fill each other with
Hope, patience, peace, and love
The existence of hate
Is another tale, told at night

Ghosts and witches do exist
But angels with wings excite me more
Our humanity, the dire greed for love
The thirst for hope: vanquished
With connection and smiles

Marriage is a design of life
One I take like oxygen
As many do
We love and strengthen to our bone
