An Abandoned City
By Jovica Tasevski-Eternijan
We created a heavenly island
Opposed to the threats of the darkness
To rush into us
We set a fortress
In front of the long waves
That aggressively chased us
To drag us into the bitter current
We erected a city
Above the poisonous bottom
Of worthlessness
And when a peculiar light
Illuminated the lower world
And the darkness backed off
As if it were humiliated
Even when the town was deserted
Blinded we stormed
Toward the rays which deluded us
Thus the hard core once again swelled with pride
And dissolved our fortress
In the heavenly words of the poets
Sometimes the city
Shines
Love the imagery. Very nice.
